Presentation Ceremony for 2015 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC)

The Presentation Ceremony for 2015 HKAEE and HKGOC was successfully held on 19 April 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.  At the Ceremony, a total of 184 winning organisations from different sectors were honoured with the 2015 HKAEE and Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA).  71 Organisations being certified as Hong Kong Green Organisations (HKGOs) in 2015 were also presented with certificates.
The Ceremony was graced by the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), Mr Lam Chiu-ying, the Chairman of Environment and Conservation Fund Committee (ECF), Dr Joseph Lee, the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Mr Ho On-sing, Thomas and the Permanent Secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection, Ms Wong Sean-yee, Anissa. At the Ceremony, the list of winning organisations was announced. Under the 2015 HKAEE, 1,146 applications from 15 sectors were received. A total of 55 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and 123 Certificates of Merit were presented to the winning organisations at the ceremony. Meanwhile, among the 64 organisations competing for 2015 HKGIA, 1 HKGIA and 5 Certificates of Merit were granted.  Highlights of the green achievements of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards and HKGIA winning organisations were also shown on the LCD display kiosks at the ceremony venue. The Ceremony also highlighted the profound impact of and the urgency in combating the climate change.  Special video messages from the Chief Secretary for Administration, the ECC Chairman, the Hon. Bernard Charnwut Chan (2015 HKAEE Final Adjudicating Panel Chairman) and the Secretary for the Environment was also shown to appeal for concerted efforts across the community in addressing the issue.  (Video on Climate Change) (Special Video Messages)
